Yummi Mummi’s
on tour

Come and join us for some safe, effective, post-natal exercise to tighten up your tummi - and the rest of you, with the chance to chat and make new friends. Just turn up with your baby - and your buggy and let’s get walking.

Yummi Mummi on tour classes are an hour long, and usually involve a 3 – 5 mile route in total. Classes start with a moderate warm up walk, moving into a power walk to raise our heart rates. This is when the fat burning starts. Each class includes group exercises specifically selected to strengthen and tone particular muscle groups. We’ll then finish off with a cool down and stretch, leaving you feeling fresh and ready for the day ahead.

Using Step Counters
We’ll use these on our tour as we find them really motivational and a great way to monitor how many steps we’ve taken. Research shows that walking even 1 mile/day reduces death rates. Approximately 6,000 steps per day is the optimum benefit for maintaining health and reducing the risk of chronic disease. For most people, that's the equivalent of walking for one hour, though these can be accumulated steps rather than one long walk.

We’ll explain all this on the day, but to burn off extra calories for weight loss, try to walk 10,000 steps per day most days of the week. If aerobic fitness is your goal, make 6,000 of those 10,000 steps a more determined pace by imagine you are 10 minutes late for an appointment. At this rate, you should be breathing noticeably, but able to carry on a conversation in full sentences. If you want to lose weight you have already gained, you will need to notch up between 12,000 – 15,000 steps a day, and make sure your calorific intake does not exceed your energy expenditure.
